Power House Solar & Wind

Off-Grid & Grid-Tied With Back-Up

Off-grid homes, cabins and facilities have been the pioneers of solar and wind systems. Advances in solar charge controllers and DC/AC inverters has allowed remote power users greater flexibility in managing and expanding thier systems. All stand alone systems require battery storage. Lead acid deep-cycle batteries are still the most common because of their low cost/watt ratio. AGM (absorbed glass mat) and VRLA (valve regulated lead acid) batteries can provide consumers with no/low maintenance stand-by power. Batteries are series wired to the system voltage in "banks," then parallel connected for added capacity.
